Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District spans the width of the entire southern metro area and contains all of Carver, Scott, Le Sueur, Goodhue and Rice Counties, plus most of Dakota County; south Washington County is the north eastern district line and contains the cities of Cottage Grove and the southern part of Woodbury. One CD#2 precinct is in Hennepin County. Burnsville and Eagan are the largest cities in the district.
There are lots of great places to get state and national news, and certainly things such as the spending bill that passed the U.S. House today have implications for folks in CD#2 (at least it will if it passes the Senate, as well) so you'll find a bit beyond the geographic borders shown above on these pages, but the focus will be local.

In the interest of reasonable disclosure let me note that I have, over the years, voted for members of three major parties: Democrat, Republican, and Libertarian.
I admit, therefore, to a mixed political background encompassing fiscally conservative approaches that respect small business owners tempered by a desire to ensure our government fulfills its promise to be, "for the people," and treat all men as created equal.
I voted for President Obama in the 2008 cycle. Yet while I may exhibit some bias I trust you'll find me less partisan than, say, Minnesota Democrats Exposed or the DailyKos.
